TRANSMAP Project at 5th WIOMSA Scientific Symposium, October 2007, Durban South Africa

Transmap was well represented in the 5th WIOMSA Scientific Symposium held in Durban, South Africa, from 22 to 26 October 2007. Several oral and poster presentations were made, from workpackages linked to biodiversity, socio-economy and mapping. Drs. José Paula and Mike Schleyer, the project coordinator and the responsible for WP5 - connectivity, were also involved in the Scientific Committee of the Symposium, hosted by ORI, a central Transmap partner. The WIOMSA symposia has been growing since the first editions, being nowadays a landmark regarding Marine Sciences in the Western Indian Ocean Region (for further information see www.wiomsa.org).
